this is my complaint.. so today i got an email that says : PG&E: Your Account Amount Due Exceeds Maximum Amount Specified

Dear Valued Customer,

The amount due on your energy statement, $193.06, exceeds the maximum amount you have specified for automatic payment, $75.00. Automatic payment has been scheduled only for the maximum amount. You still need to pay the remaining balance.

To make a one-time payment to pay the remaining balance login to Customer Service Online at:

http://www.pge.com/customer_service/csol.html
Enter your user name and password.

Please note that if you simply increase your automatic payment instruction at this time the current remaining balance will not be paid until your next billing cycle.

so i go to their website to login. since i have automatic payment, i hardly login to my account. so this time i am login in to pay the money i owe. its been a while since i logged in that i forgot my username, so i have them email it me:

so then i go back to their website and i login, but then i get this error message:
Account Information

This user name, mypgeuser, is no longer available, due
to inactivity. Please call (800) 743-5000 to reactivate
your User Name.


so now im stuck not being able to pay my bill online. so i called their (800) 743-5000 number, i get a recording saying that they are only taking calls from customer with urgent matters like if a pole felt or like if i dont have electricity. which is cool because we've been having bad weather lately so its better to service those people who need it more.

here is my complaint about pge password services: if i am a current customer, why de-activate my account? i mean, i can understand if im no longer a pge customer, but im still current. i think that's so stupid whoever put that policy in place.

UPDATE: 2-1-2010 so after so many days waiting i finally get through their 800 number. i wait like 10 minutes on the hold to wait a rep. finally a rep comes on and she has a hard time understanding what my request is. after i repeated, she got it. so she puts me on hold. after 2 minutes she comes back and says that my account should be activated in one to two business days !!

WFT??? that is ridiculous i have to wait that long. i really dont know what to do man. But i feel helpless because i can't do anything. they are a monopoly so i dont have a choice. its not like i can go to one of their competitors and change service with them. what else can i do. i bet they are going to disconnect my service and of course, everyone is going to say its my fault for not paying my bills. but that's not the case, im trying to make my payment.

im going through the same thing, i signed up with a new user and now i get this error:

we’re sorry, but this user id cannot make online payments for this account. only the user id that enrolled in e-bills can make online payments for this account. if you have reached this message in error, or for further details, please contact customer service by e-mail.
